BHA works closely with the Mayor's office and various city departments on such issues as overcrowding, suspicious activities, construction issues, curbside garbage, parking offenses, blight problems, and excessive noise. BHA regularly receives emails and calls for assistance from local residents on a wide range of issues and BHA works to find solutions and get issues resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.
BHA works diligently with the Building Department and Public Works to ensure timely enforcement of building and sanitation codes. We host neighborhood clean-up and planting events to beautify our community and foster unity and pride. We work diligently to maintain property appearances and values as well as City Services for our neighborhood.
Our many Community
Flower Gardens along Battle Avenue are an expression of our caring and pride in our neighborhood, and we thank the gardeners of the BHA for donating their time and expertise to this project.
BHA holds at least one annual meeting and often more, with guest speakers and/or presentations of interest to BHA members and neighborhood residents. BHA's Candidates Night during election years allows residents to meet, hear from and ask questions of local candidates. BHA has also conducted and/or supported events and initiatives to promote neighborhood preservation, beautification, community spirit and pride, including annual holiday parties, Spring Park & Neighborhood Clean-up days and annual Fall Bulb-Planting events.
